ABSTRACT:
The claimed invention is a pyrazine of the formula: ##STR1## where Z is oxygen or sulfur and R is C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl, phenyl or benzyl. The pyrazine ring may be variously further substituted. The above noted pyrazines are useful as intermediates in the production of herbicides.
