ABSTRACT:
Catalyst supports, catalyst systems, methods for the preparation thereof, in dimerization processes therewith are provided. Catalyst supports are prepared from potassium carbonate, sodium carbonate, an alumina-containing compound, and water. Catalyst systems comprise of at least one elemental alkali metal deposited on the catalyst support. Optionally, the catalyst system further comprises of at least one promoter.
