ABSTRACT:
Perfluoropolyoxyalkylenes containing acid and/or ketonic groups are neutralized by reacting same in the liquid phase with elemental fluorine at temperatures of from -20.degree. to +150.degree. C. in the presence of a supported catalyst consisting of fluorides of Ag, Pb, Co, Ni, Cu, Mn, V, Cr, or Fe.
In a preferred embodiment, a mixture of fluorides of the above mentioned metals and of fluorides, or fluoride precursors, of an alkali and/or alkaline-earth metal is used as catalyst, optionally supported on a suitable carrier.
