ABSTRACT:
A process for the production of a multicoloured paint which comprises admixing two or more differently coloured hydroxyethyl cellulose-containing aqueous polymer emulsions with a dispersion of a clay of the formula ##EQU1## WHEREIN M is a cation, x is a value greater than zero and less than 6, y is from 1.00 up to but less than 4 and n is an integer from 1 to 3, to form a multicoloured paint dispersion consisting of discrete coloured aqueous polymer emulsion particles as the disperse phases in an aqueous continuous phase of the clay dispersion.
