ABSTRACT:
A boron-containing magnesium hydroxide coating is electrolytically applied to a boron-containing electrical steel through the use of an electrolyte at 90.degree. C. which is an aqueous solution of magnesium formate and magnesium metaborate containing magnesia as a solid second phase and having a pH in the range from 8.0 to 9.0.
