ABSTRACT:
This invention discloses the use of chelates formed from transition metals and 1,10-phenanthroline or 2,2'-bypyridine as contraceptives adapted for intravaginal use which also give high protection against venereal disease.
Specifically high activity is shown for the copper (I) and copper (II) chelates of the bases, particularly when these are substituted with a number of substituents.
