ABSTRACT:
A process comprising reacting a 2-methyloxazoline with a 3-methyl-2-buten-1-yl derivative of the formula ##STR1## in which X is halide, sulphonate or phosphate thereby to produce a 2-methyl-3-(3-methyl-2-butenyl)-2-oxazolinium salt of the formula ##STR2## reacting the oxazolinium salt with an alcoholate of the formula
