ABSTRACT:
A method is provided for preventing or reducing platelet loss during extracorporeal circulation, such as during coronary artery bypass or graft surgery by administering a thromboxane A.sub.2 antagonist alone or with prostacyclin and/or a prostacyclin mimic.
