ABSTRACT:
A liquid crystal composition comprising at least a compound I represented by the following general formula (I) and a compound II represented by the following general formula (II): ##STR1## where n, m are natural numbers, R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 indicate alkyl group having different asymetric carbon structures on their derivatives. Thus, the lower limiting of temperature the Sc* phase of the liquid crystal composition can be reduced by adding in combination the compounds I and II to a liquid crystal composition. The mixture will exhibit an Sc* phase at the room temperature and especially at much lower temperatures.
