ABSTRACT:
A thermoplastic polyester composition is improved in mechanical properties and comprises a polyester, a vinyl polymer having --COOH, alkyl ester of --COOH, phenyl or cyano and an olefin copolymer comprising an alpha-olefin and an alpha, beta-unsaturated acid glycidyl ester or (C.sup.2) a graft copolymer comprising said olefin copolymer (C.sup.1) and one or more (co)polymers mainly comprising repeating units represented by the following general formula (2), wherein said copolymer (C.sup.1) and said (co)polymers are chemically bonded to each other to form a branched or crosslinked structure: ##STR1## wherein R.sup.2 stands for a hydrogen atom or a lower alkyl group and Y stands for one or more groups selected from --COOH, an alkyl ester of --COOH having 1 to 8 carbon atoms in the alkyl, phenyl and cyano.
