ABSTRACT:
A process for producing a biaxially oriented, transparent, multilayered film having a base layer comprising a mixture of a propylene polymer and a resin having a softening point of about 130.degree. to about 180.degree. C., and at least one additional layer comprising a material which can be readily subjected to corona treatment, comprising the steps of (i) coextruding through a slot die the layers of the film so as to produce a multilayer film, (ii) solidifying the multilayer film by chilling, and (iii) orienting the multilayer film by stretching in the longitudinal and transverse directions.
