ABSTRACT:
An electrophotographic photoconductor has an electroconductive support, and a photoconductive layer formed thereon containing an azo pigment of formula (1): ##STR1## wherein R.sup.201 and R.sup.202 are each a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, an alkyl group, an alkoxyl group or cyano group; and Cp.sup.1 and Cp.sup.2 are each independently a coupler radical represented by formula (2): ##STR2## in which R.sup.203 is a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group or an aryl group; R.sup.204 to R.sup.208 are each a hydrogen atom, nitro group, cyano group, a halogen atom, an alkyl group, trifluoromethyl group, an alkoxyl group, a dialkylamino group, or hydroxyl group; and Z is an atomic group which constitutes a substituted or unsubstituted aromatic hydrocarbon ring, or a substituted or unsubstituted aromatic heterocyclic ring, the azo pigment showing a diffraction peak at a Bragg angle of 26.5.+-.0.8.degree. in the X-ray diffraction spectrum with respect to Cu--K.alpha. ray, and a half-width of 2.degree. or more at the Bragg angle of 26.5.+-.0.8.degree..
