Compounds of the formula I ##STR1## in which a) X is CH and Y is N; or
b) X is N and Y is CH; and in which
Z is a C.sub.1 group to which there are bonded 1-3 halogen atoms or 1-3 substituted or unsubstituted hetero atoms O, S and/or N are suitable for controlling and preventing microbial attack on plants.
