ABSTRACT:
Torquable tubular member for use in a flexible elongate device comprising an elongate tubular body having a cylindrical wall and a longitudinal axis extending longitudinally of the cylindrical wall. The cylindrical wall has formed therein a plurality of spaced-apart slots spaced longitudinally of the longitudinal axis. At least certain of the slots have a first portion which extends generally radially of the tubular body and a second portion which extends generally longitudinally of the tubular body.
