ABSTRACT:
A surge voltage lightning arrester ground lead disconnector utilizes a refractory metal coating on the explosive cartridge to provide a thermal delay to the arcing that occurs during disconnector operation. The thermal delay insures the explosion of the cartridge and promotes venting the arrester housing.
