ABSTRACT:
A process for preparing a diphenylalkene derivative of the formula [II] ##STR1## which comprises oxidizing a diphenylalkanoic acid derivative of the formula [I] ##STR2## wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are each substituted or unsubstituted alkyl, substituted or unsubstituted alkenyl, substituted or unsubstituted alkynyl, substituted or unsubstituted cycloalkyl, substituted or unsubstituted aralkyl or substituted or unsubstituted aryl, R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 may form a heteroring together theirwith or with an adjacent benzene ring, R.sub.3, R.sub.4, R.sub.5, R.sub.6, R.sub.7, R.sub.8, R.sub.9, R.sub.10 and R.sub.11 are each hydrogen atom, halogen atom, substituted or unsubstituted alkyl, substituted or unsubstituted hydroxyl or substituted or unsubstituted amino, R.sub.12 and R.sub.13 are each hydrogen atom or substituted or unsubstituted alkyl, X is carboxyl, amide, ester or halide thereof.
