ABSTRACT:
A phosphoric acid diester of the formula: ##STR1## or its salt is produced by reacting .alpha.-tocopherol with a halogenophosphorylating agent and reacting the resulted product with ascorbic acid having protected hydroxy groups in the 5- and 6-positions followed by removing the protected groups. The compound can be employed as prophylactic and therapeutic agents for cataracts and climacteric hazards and also as an ingredient for cosmetics having skin-beautifying action.
