ABSTRACT:
In order to permit stable gradation display or high-speed display, when predetermined voltages are applied to a collection electrode1and a display electrode2, respectively, to move particles between the collection electrode1and the display electrode2, a voltage is applied to a pressing electrode4to press the particles against the display electrode2so that they are stabilized on the display electrode2with a uniform spacing therebetween.
