ABSTRACT:
A superconductive magnetic bearing22comprises a stationary bearing portion23having an annular superconductor unit26provided on a fixed portion20, and a rotatable bearing portion24having annular permanent magnet units28, 29provided on a rotary portion21so as to be opposed to the superconductor unit26. The rotary portion21is contactlessly supported relative to the fixed portion20by the pinning effect of a superconductor constituting the superconductor unit26. The permanent magnet units28, 29each comprise a plurality of permanent magnet members arranged in superposed layers with an insulating layer provided between each adjacent pair of magnet members.
