ABSTRACT:
A piezoelectric actuator21has: a piezoelectric actuator part22made up of a common electrode27, a piezoelectric element29, and an individual electrode33; an electrical interconnection joint part43formed on the individual electrode33; an electrical interconnection45formed on the electrical interconnection joint part43; a head block47fixed to a nozzle plate39through the electrical interconnection45; and a PI tape49disposed within the head block47. A closed space57is defined between the head block47and the nozzle plate39. The closed space57is divided by the PI tape49into two sections. Of these two sections of the closed space57, the one on the side of the head block47constitutes a first closed space57a. A moisture absorbent52is sealed within the first closed space57a. Relative humidity within the closed space57of the ink jet head1is not less than 0% nor more than 20%.
