A golf club head is described which has a hitting face for golf balls, the hitting face being formed at least partially by a metallic material satisfying the following relationship:in-line-formulae description="In-line Formulae" end="lead"?y≦0.006x+60in-line-formulae description="In-line Formulae" end="tail"?whereinx is Young's modulus(unit: kgf/mm2), andy is tensile strength(unit: kgf/mm2). The metallic material is preferably an amorphous metal.
