ABSTRACT:
The number of spreading codes multiplexed in a received signal is detected, and switches4and5are switched to the RAKE demodulation section2side if the detected number of spreading codes is less than a predetermined threshold value, and to the JD demodulation section3side if greater than or equal to the predetermined threshold value. As a result, joint detection demodulation is used only when the number of multiplexed spreading codes is large—that is, when the number of users is large—and consequently power can be saved during demodulation.
