ABSTRACT:
A pedal retraction amount control apparatus is provided which can sufficiently move a pedal from a passenger compartment in the forward direction of the vehicle during a front collision.An attacbment plate29of a front portion of a pedal bracket24which supports a support shaft27of a pedal23is secured to a dash panel12, and a connecting member30of a rear portion of the pedal bracket24is attached to a cowl panel32so as to be detachable when the pedal bracket is moved rearward, and a steering hanger17is arranged facing in order to contact during a front collision a rear portion of a displacement restricting section50which extends in a crosswise direction of the vehicle and which is disposed below the support shaft27.
