A color ink jet printer21includes a carriage26and a head unit25supported to the carriage26.The head unit25includes an ink jet head24and a base plate46.The ink jet head24includes an actuator having channel members72and a center plate73interposed between the channel members72,and the ink jet head24also includes manifolds71.The center plate73has a height greater than that of the channel members72so as to protrude upward from the channel members72.Thus protruding portion is directly attached to the base plate46.Accordingly, the actuator70is reliably supported by the base plate46,thereby preventing positional deviation of nozzles75formed to the actuator70.
