ABSTRACT:
A liquid crystal display device comprises, a pair of substrates having an electrode on a surface thereof, and a liquid crystal layer containing a liquid crystal and a dichroic dye, wherein the dichroic dye is an anthraquinone dye exhibiting 0.08 or less of Y value represented by the following equation,
