Diazatricyclononene compounds of the formula ##STR1## and their intermediates, i.e. norbornane compounds of the formula ##STR2## where R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R.sup.3, R.sup.4, R.sup.5, A and n have the meanings given in the claims and in the description, their preparation and their use as plant protection agents or plant growth regulators.
