ABSTRACT:
An apparatus for and a method of supplying cold in a refrigerator, wherein respective temperatures at a plurality of different portions of the interior of the refrigerator are sensed so that cold air is selectively supplied to each refrigerator portion based on the sensed temperature associated with the refrigerator portion, thereby effectively maintaining the refrigerating and freezing compartments of the refrigerator at predetermined temperatures, respectively. The apparatus and method are also configured to concentratedly supply cold air to a portion of the refrigerating compartment of the refrigerator in which a new load is stored. When at least one of the sensed temperatures of the freezing compartment and different portions of the refrigerating compartment is higher than an associated set temperature, concentratedly supplying cold air to the compartment or compartment portion exhibiting the temperature higher than the set temperature. When the sensed temperatures of the freezing compartment and refrigerating compartment portions are higher than the associated set temperatures, respectively, cold air is uniformly supplied to both the compartments.
