ABSTRACT:
A setting apparatus1for setting a blind nut or the like to a workpiece, comprises a mandrel7, a hydraulic cylinder17receiving therein a hydraulic piston15for axially pulling the mandrel7, an oil reservoir22for containing oil to be supplied to the hydraulic cylinder17, and an air cylinder27for receiving therein an air piston26connected to a ram25adapted to be reciprocatingly advanced and retracted in the oil reservoir22. In response to the compressed air supplied to the air cylinder, the hydraulic piston15is moved to pull the mandrel7, whereby a fastener threadedly connected with the mandrel is set to a workpiece. The setting apparatus1also includes an air-pressure setting valve33for adjustably presetting the air pressure of the compressed air to be supplied to the air cylinder27. When the air pressure in said air cylinder reaches the preset air pressure level, the air-pressure setting valve33is operated to feed the compressed air from the air cylinder to completion valve activation assembly13so that a completion valve11is activated to stop the movement of the air piston26to prevent the mandrel7from being pulled.
