ABSTRACT:
A liquid crystal device1includes a transparent first substrate10with a first transparent electrode11formed on the surface thereof, a transparent second substrate20with a second transparent electrode21is formed thereon, and a liquid crystal layer50. A light reflecting layer4defining the reflective display region31and the transmissive display region32is formed on each pixel region3. A layer-thickness adjusting layer6where a region corresponding to the transmissive display region32constitutes an opening61, is formed on the upper layer side of the light reflecting layer4. In the layer-thickness adjusting layer6, the boundary portion of the reflective display region31and the transmissive display region32constitutes an inclined surface60, and a light shielding film9is two-dimensionally superimposed on this boundary region.
