ABSTRACT:
In a controller of a vehicle transmission, the transmission includes a continuously variable transmission3and a planetary gear mechanism4and is coupled to an output of an engine1. The transmission includes a first shift mode using only the continuously variable transmission3and a second shift mode using in combination the continuously variable transmission3and the planetary gear mechanism4.The controller determines the shift mode based on load of the engine1according to a required output and an input/output revolution speed ratio γ of the continuously variable transmission3, and switches between the above two shift modes at the predetermined input/output revolution speed ratio.
