ABSTRACT:
A brushless motor1comprises a rotor3having a magnet2and a stator4having a stator core8. The stator core8has teeth11provided at the front ends thereof with auxiliary grooves to realize a pseudo-multi-slot arrangement. The magnet2has an axial length of LMwhile the stator core8has an axial length of LS, LSbeing greater than LM(LS>LM). The stator core8is provided at the opposite ends thereof with respective overhanging portions15that are not vis-à-vis the magnet2. As a result, the magnetic flux is prevented from flowing into the stator core8through the axial end faces8athereof. In other words, the magnetic flux mostly flows into the stator core8through the front ends of the teeth. As a result, the pseudo-multi-slot effect produced by the auxiliary grooves is efficiently boosted to reduce cogging and other problems.
