ABSTRACT:
There is here provided an easily operable winged indwelling needle capable of surely preventing accidental sticking. A winged indwelling needle1comprises a hollow needle2having a knife point at its tip, a hub3provided at a rear end of the hollow needle2, a tub-shaped member6for housing the hollow needle2and the hub3, a pair of wing-shaped members7provided on an outer surface side of a side wall of the tub-shaped member6, protrusion maintaining means for releasably maintaining a state in which the hollow needle2is protruded as much as a predetermined length from a tip of the tub-shaped member6, and housing maintaining means for maintaining a state in which the hollow needle2is housed in the tub-shaped member6. The above winged indwelling needle further comprises a rack4provided in junction with the rear end of the hub3, and a gear8engaged with the rack and supported on an inner surface side of the side wall of the tub-shaped member6. The hollow needle2is driven through the rack4by rotating the gear8to be housed in the tub-shaped member6.
