ABSTRACT:
A tray1can be inserted in and pulled out of a main body10of an image forming apparatus. A lifting member23is provided in the main body10so that the lifting member23is able to enter into the tray1and lift a stack of sheets in the tray1. The lifting member23is driven by a motor25provided in the main body10. A switching member27is provided for connecting and disconnecting the transmission of the power of the motor25to the lifting member23. When the tray1is fully inserted in the main body10, the switching member27connects the transmission. In contrast, when the tray1is to be moved out of the main body10, the switching member27disconnects the transmission, so that the lifting member23swings downward out of the tray1.
