ABSTRACT:
Phenylsulfone alkenoic acids and derivatives thereof are provided which have the structure ##STR1## wherein Ar represents an aryl group including phenyl or naphthyl which may or may not include one or more substituents, X is COOR wherein R is hydrogen, alkali metal or lower alkyl or X is 5-tetrazolyl or ##STR2## wherein R' is lower alkyl or aryl; n is 2, 3 or 4 and m is 2, 3 or 4. These compounds are cardiovascular agents which exhibit thromboxane antagonist activity and thus are useful in the treatment of thrombotic and vasospastic disease.
