ABSTRACT:
As the liquid crystal substance in electro-optical devices or as the stationary phase in gas chromatography is employed a compound of the formula ##STR1## in which R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 each is C.sub.n H.sub.2n+1 --, C.sub.n H.sub.2n+1 O--, C.sub.n H.sub.2n+1 COO-- or C.sub.n H.sub.2n+1 OCOO--, n being an integer of from 1 to 10, and R.sub.3 is Cl--, Br--, CH.sub.3 --, C.sub.2 H.sub.5 --, CH.sub.3 CO-- or CH.sub.3 OOC--.
