ABSTRACT:
An improvement in the method of preparing alkanedisulfonates by the reaction of olefins with bisulfite or sulfite is disclosed. The improvement comprises conducting the reaction in the presence of an effective amount of a C.sub.3 -C.sub.6 monocarboxylic acid.
