ABSTRACT:
This invention relates to a process for preparing catalyst supports with a narrow pore size distribution by simultaneously titrating an acid aluminum species, a basic aluminum species and a phosphorus oxide. The porous alumina supports have surface areas above about 300 m.sup.2 /g with more than 80% of the pores having diameters less than 50 .ANG..
