ABSTRACT:
Levomepromazine hydrogen maleate is prepared by resolving (.+-.)-10-(3-dimethylamino-2-methylpropyl)-2-methoxyphenothiazine with (-)-di(p-toluoyl)-L-tartaric acid to produce the neutral salt of the dextrorotatory base and then adding maleic acid to the mother liquors to precipitate the levomepromazine hydrogen maleate.
