ABSTRACT:
A silver halide light-sensitive material containing at least one hydrophilic colloid layer which contains a basic polymer and at least one oxonol dye represented by the following general formula (I): ##STR1## wherein R represents an aliphatic residue having 4 or more carbon atoms, an aralkyl group or a heterocyclic group; X represents a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, a sulfo group, a lower alkyl group or a hydroxy group; L represents a methine group including a substituted methine group; M represents a cation; and n represents 0, 1 or 2. The dye has no adverse affects on the photographic properties of the silver halide light-sensitive material and can be easily removed from the hydrophilic colloid layer during photographic processing.
