ABSTRACT:
On a cigarette filter assembly machine, (2), a first and second succession of side by side, oppositely-oriented filter-tipped cigarettes are fed to a turnover unit settable to two distinct operating positions for turning over by 180.degree. the cigarettes in one or other of the two successions; the overturned cigarettes being transferred onto the opposite side of the cigarettes in the other succession to form two successions of equioriented, transversely-spaced cigarettes.
