ABSTRACT:
A valve assembly having a housing with an inlet passage and an outlet passage communicating with a valve chamber through a substantially hemispherical valve seat; a valve member mounted in the valve chamber of the housing for movement between a closed attitude, substantially preventing the flow of fluid from the inlet passage to the outlet passage, and an opened attitude, defining a path of fluid flow interconnecting the inlet passage and the outlet passage; and a mechanism for moving the valve member between said closed and opened attitudes.
