ABSTRACT:
This disclosure shows a technique used for obtaining high-resolution imagery at infra-red and optical wavelengths in the presence of atmospheric turbulence. The technique uses multi-channel signal processing. Squaring circuits are utilized to obtain the squared functions of the sum and difference frequencies, structured so as to avoid atmospheric turbulent effects upon received signals. This technique is suited for imaging of objects located above the turbulent boundary layer near the earth's surface.
