ABSTRACT:
A process for the preparation of 5-alkoxy-2-substituted thio-1,3-thiazoline derivatives of general formula (I) which can be used as herbicide, fungicide or insecticide and as useful intermediates in preparing their derivatives. ##STR1## wherein, R is hydrogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 alkyl, allyl, 2-propynyl, benzyl, and 2-pyridylmethyl and R.sub.1 is methyl and ethyl.
