ABSTRACT:
Pure and substantially pure asymmetric 1:2 cobalt complexes of the formula, ##STR1## and mixtures of such complexes, in which X is hydrogen or nitro, either, R.sub.1 and R.sub.2, independently, are hydrogen, (C.sub.1-4)-alkyl, (C.sub.1-4)alkoxy, chlorine, bromine or nitro or R.sub.1 is hydrogen, chlorine or nitro, and R.sub.2 is -SO.sub.2 NR.sub.3 R.sub.4, in which R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 occupy the 4- and 5-positions, either R.sub.3 is hydrogen or unsubstituted or substituted (C.sub.1-4)alkyl, and R.sub.4 is hydrogen or unsubstituted or substituted (C.sub.1-4)alkyl, (C.sub.5-7)cycloalkyl or phenyl, or R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 or together with the nitrogen atom to which they are bound, form a non-aromatic 5- or 6- membered heterocyclic ring which contains one or two hetero atoms,
