ABSTRACT:
Hydrogenalkoxysilanes are prepared by direct reaction of finely divided metallic silicon with alcohols in the presence of copper-containing catalysts in a heat-transfer oil comprising tritoluenes, tetratoluenes or mixtures thereof at from 100.degree. to 350.degree. C.
