ABSTRACT:
There is provided a novel flame retardant system or additive which when incorporated in a polymer, such as polyphenylene ether resin compositons, produces novel flame resistant non-discolored polyphenylene ether resin compositions. The flame retardant system comprises a composition of stable halogenated organic compounds and boron containing salts or esters which are stable at 250.degree.-300.degree. C.
