ABSTRACT:
The chain link conveyor assembly of an earth cutting machine is provided with means for mounting the conical cutting bits at a penetration angle on the range of 47.degree. to 53.degree. and a sideward angle in the range of 3.degree. to 12.degree.. Even bit wear is best promoted at penetration and sideward angles of 50.degree. and 71/2.degree., respectively.
