ABSTRACT:
A silver halide photographic photosensitive material comprises a compound represented by the following formula (I): ##STR1## The variables in this formula are defined in the specification. Also disclosed is a method for processing this photosensitive material with a developer which has a pH 9.0 to 11.0 and which contains 0.15 to 1.5 mol/liter or more of sulfite ion.
