ABSTRACT:
A method for hardening gelatin comprises the step of mixing gelatin with a compound represented by the following formula (I), (II) or (III): ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 independently represent a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, an aryl group or a heterocyclic group or R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 combine with each other to form a nitrogen-containing heterocyclic ring; J represents an organic group; 1 represents an integer of 2 to 5; and m represents an integer of 1 to 5.
