ABSTRACT:
New chelate compounds which are alpha,omega-alkylene titanates having two non-hydrolyzable groups. The compounds may be represented by the formula: ##STR1## where A represents a non-hydrolyzable group, B is an R.sub.2 C group or a carbonyl group, R may be hydrogen or alkyl groups having 1 to 6 carbon atoms and n may be 1 or 2. Preferably R is hydrogen. The R in a particular molecule may be the same or different.
The compounds are particularly useful for treating inorganic fillers which are used to extend or modify the properties of polymeric materials. The compounds maintain high activity even when applied to filler containing free water.
